Gauging the boost of mediation in the new scene post-pandemic

The 4th Mediation and Courts Symposium will take place on September 21st to September 25th, 2020

It will be an Intercontinental Congress, fully broadcasted in streaming.

It is aimed at judges, magistrates, legal practitioners, mediators, and other professionals in the field of national and international mediation. The congress will be held in a virtual format, in Spanish and English.



1) Assistance: all participants accredited online on the Symposium.
2) Training: The 4th Mediation and Courts Symposium is registered in the Ministry of Justice (n. 19392). By means of the University Chair UDIMA-School of Mediation in collaboration with GEMME, an academic 25-hour training certificate will be given to those registered in the Symposium when they take the final evaluation test.

• The topic must be related to the content of the agenda
• Deadline for submissions is July 31st, 2020 and they must be sent to the email:

  • Written expression of a paper intended for an online spoken presentation.
  • Length: minimum number of pages is 7 and maximum is 14, including cover, abstract, charts, illustrations, and bibliographic references.
  • Languages: Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Galician, French and English.
  • Text with all numbered pages (bottom right side):

o Text format: Word
o Font: Times New Roman 12pt
o Font style: normal
o Spacing: 1,5
o Justified alignment
o Blank spaces between paragraphs

• Content and structure:

o First page (both categories)

- Title (no more than 90 characters, including spaces)
- Identification details: Full name(s) of author(s), followed by surname(s), place of residency (province, city, country. Not physical address)
- Institution, University, Association, proffesional body, or center of origin. Whichever case must always include the email of the author or first author.
- Abstract (maximum 300 words) and key words in any of the previously mentioned languages, plus title, abstract and key words in English. English written papers must include title, abstract and key words in Spanish.

o Second page and the following must have a headline on the top right side with short title, author (or first author and others). Numbered at the bottom right side of the page (including first page)

o Body of the text with text quotes following APA latest edition, no footnotes (in which case, only at the end), and with the following content and structure:

Other details

• Name the file as Name_Surname from the author or first author. If numerous papers are sent, they must be numbered after the surname.
• Selection of papers will be informed through email at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the Symposium
• If notified that the paper has been selected, further information about length of presentation, day and time will be sent. In the following 15 days, the author must confirm availability to participate online on said schedule, and also send over their presentation in a PDF format (a sample will be provided).
• Selected papers for presentation, and those that the Scientific Commitee approves, will be published after the Symposium in a colective work (digital format). Those who send papers are bound to the commitment of authorising transfer of their rights to that effect, once they are informed of the selection.
